چکیده

Cell-free nuclear (cf-nDNA) and mitochondrial (cf-mDNA) DNA are released from damaged cells in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients, contributing to adverse cardiac remodeling, vascular dysfunction, inflammation. The purpose of this study was correlate the presence cf-DNAs with HF T2DM patients. A total 612 patients were prescreened by using a local database, 240 (120 non-HF 120 individuals) ultimately selected. collection medical information, including both echocardiography Doppler imagery, as well assessment biochemistry parameters circulating biomarkers, performed at baseline. N-terminal brain natriuretic pro-peptide (NT-proBNP) cf-nDNA/cf-mtDNA levels measured via an ELISA kit real-time quantitative PCR tests, respectively. We found that possessed significantly higher cf-nDNA (9.9 ± 2.5 μmol/L vs. 5.4 2.7 μmol/L; p = 0.04) lower cf-mtDNA (15.7 3.3 30.4 4.8 0.001) than those without HF. multivariate log regression showed discriminative potency >7.6 (OR 1.07; 95% CI 1.03–1.12; 0.01) NT-proBNP (odds ratio [OR] 1.10; confidence interval [CI] 1.04–1.19; for In conclusion, we independently established elevated cf-nDNA, originating NT-proBNP, associated

Circulating cell‐free mitochondrial deoxyribonucleic acid is increased in coronary heart disease patients with diabetes mellitus

AIMS/INTRODUCTION Circulating cell-free mitochondrial deoxyribonucleic acid (ccf-mtDNA) is presumably derived from injured tissues or cells in the body and has been suggested to be potential biomarker in several diseases. The present study explored whether mtDNA could be used as a biomarker to evaluate disease in coronary heart disease (CHD) patients with or without diabetes mellitus (DM). MA...

Increased Levels of AIM2 and Circulating Mitochondrial DNA in Type 2 Diabetes

Background: Chronic inflammation has critical role in Type 2 diabetes (T2D), in which IL-1β contributes in insulin resistance and beta cell dysfunction. The activation of NLRP3 and AIM2 by endogens ligands, such as mtDNA can lead to the release of active form of IL-1β. Objective: To evaluate AIM2 expression and activation as well as circulating mtDNA levels in T2D patients. Methods: AIM2 expres...

Ischemic heart disease is associated with vertebral fractures in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus

AIMS/INTRODUCTION Discordant results about the relationship between diabetes complications and the risk of fragility fractures have been reported. Our aims were to analyze the factors related to morphometric vertebral fractures (VFs) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, and to explore the association between the presence of VFs and the main cardiovascular risk factors. MATERIALS AND MET...

Prevalence of Anti Hyperglycemic Agents -Associated Oral Lichenoid Lesions in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients

Objective: This study aimed to estimate the prevalence of lichenoid reactions to Anti Hyperglycemic Agents. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive and analytic study, we examined the oral mucosa of 411 patients at the age of 29 to 85 in 3 groups who consumed various antihyperglycemic agents. Results: In overall, 31 patients had lichenoid reactions (12 patients taking glibe...

Vitamin D Deficiency is Associated with the Metabolic Syndrome in Subjects with Type 2 Diabetes

Background and Objectives: There is convincing evidence that subjects concomitantly affected by type 2 diabetes (T2D) and metabolic syndrome (MeS) are at greater risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD). Many metabolic derangements in T2D might be attributed to poor vitamin D status. The purpose of this study was to investigate the associations among vitamin D status, MeS and glycemic status in su...
